This policy explains how the CourtPulse app for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch ("CourtPulse", "the app") handles information. CourtPulse is published by Marjhorie D Mahinay ("we", "us").
- There is no CourtPulse account and we don't run servers that store your data.
- Your matches are saved on your devices and in your own iCloud, which we can't access.
- Apple Health data stays on your devices and in Apple Health. It is never used for advertising or marketing, never sold, and never shared with us or anyone else.
- We don't track you across apps or websites, and the app has no analytics or advertising SDKs.
- Insights are worked out on your iPhone, not in the cloud.
- Purchases, Game Center and iCloud are handled by Apple.
1. Your matches
For each match, CourtPulse saves the format you chose, the score of every point and who served it, rally times, the date and length of the match, the shots counted by your Apple Watch, the heart-rate, calorie, step and distance figures described in section 2, and, if you allow it, where you played (section 4). If you type in names for yourself, your partner or your opponents, those names are saved with your matches. We can't see any of this. It's stored on your iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch and in your iCloud (section 5).
2. Apple Health (HealthKit)
CourtPulse uses Apple Health only with your permission, which you give or refuse in the system Health prompt. You can change it anytime in the Health app › your profile › Apps › CourtPulse, or on Apple Watch in Settings › Health.
What CourtPulse reads
- On Apple Watch, during a match: heart rate, active energy (calories), walking and running distance, steps, and workouts. These show live on your Watch and are saved with the match so you can see your stats afterwards.
- On iPhone: heart rate, active energy and workouts.
What CourtPulse writes
- Each match you save is written to Apple Health as a Paddle Sports (padel) or Pickleball workout, so it counts toward your Activity rings. Matches recorded on Apple Watch include the heart-rate, calorie and distance samples the Watch measured during the workout.
- If you end a match with Discard, the workout is not saved.
How Health data is used
- Health data is used only to show you your own match stats, charts and insights inside CourtPulse.
- It is never used for advertising, marketing or data mining, never sold, and never shared with us, advertisers, data brokers or any other third party.
- The heart-rate, calorie, step and distance figures saved with a match sync with the rest of that match through your private iCloud database (section 5). Only you can access them.
- CourtPulse doesn't write false or made-up data to Apple Health.
3. Motion (Apple Watch)
With your permission, CourtPulse reads your Apple Watch's motion sensors during a match to count forehands, backhands, volleys and smashes and to estimate smash speed. The raw sensor readings are processed on the Watch and thrown away. Only the shot type, time and estimated speed are kept with the match.
4. Location
If you allow it, CourtPulse gets your location once when a match starts, so it can show the courts you've played on a map. The coordinates are saved with that match. To show a place name (for example, the name of your club), the coordinates are sent to Apple's geocoding service, which Apple runs under its own privacy policy. Maps are drawn by Apple Maps. CourtPulse never tracks your location in the background. You can turn location off anytime in Settings › Privacy & Security › Location Services › CourtPulse; matches will then be saved without a location.
5. iCloud sync
If you're signed in to iCloud, CourtPulse stores your matches in your private iCloud database (Apple's CloudKit) so they sync between your devices. This data lives in your iCloud account under Apple's privacy policy. We cannot see or access it. You can turn off iCloud for CourtPulse in Settings › [your name] › iCloud.
The app is set up for Apple's push notification service only so that iCloud can tell it when your synced data has changed. CourtPulse does not send you notifications, and we have no way to message you.
6. Apple Watch and iPhone
The live score and finished matches travel directly from your Apple Watch to your iPhone over Apple's WatchConnectivity link. They don't pass through any server of ours.
7. Insights
Match analysis and insights are calculated on your iPhone. On devices that support Apple Intelligence, CourtPulse may use Apple's on-device language model to word your coach's note. That happens on your iPhone; your match data isn't sent to us or to any AI service.
8. Game Center
If you use Game Center, CourtPulse submits your all-time number of wins, total points won and fastest estimated smash to Apple's Game Center leaderboards. Your Game Center nickname and these scores may be visible to other players, depending on your Game Center settings. Heart rate and other Health data are never sent to Game Center. Game Center is operated by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. We don't receive your Apple ID or contact details.
9. Purchases and subscriptions
CourtPulse Pro, if offered, is sold through Apple's App Store as a subscription or a one-time purchase. Apple processes the payment; we never receive your payment details, name or address. The app receives a signed confirmation from Apple so it can unlock Pro, and that confirmation stays on your device.
10. Stickers and sharing
Stickers are made on your iPhone. They only leave your device when you choose to copy or share one, and then they go where you send them.
11. Information we don't collect
We don't collect or receive personal information, Health data, location, device identifiers for tracking, crash or usage analytics, or any data from other apps. The app contains no advertising. Because we don't collect personal information, we don't sell or share it.
12. Not a medical device
CourtPulse is a sports and fitness app. Heart-rate, calorie, shot and speed figures are estimates for training and fun. They aren't medical advice and aren't meant to diagnose, treat or prevent any condition.
13. Children
CourtPulse is designed for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. If you believe a child has shared personal information with us, for example by emailing support, contact us and we'll delete it.
14. Your choices and deleting data
- Delete a match: swipe left on it in the Matches tab. This removes it from your devices and your iCloud.
- Delete everything: delete the app from your iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, then go to Settings › [your name] › iCloud › Manage Account Storage, choose CourtPulse and delete its data.
- Health: workouts CourtPulse saved stay in Apple Health until you delete them there (Health app › Browse › Activity › Workouts). You can also stop CourtPulse reading or writing Health data, as described in section 2.
- Game Center: manage or delete Game Center data in Settings › Game Center, or contact Apple.
- Support emails: if you email us, we keep the message only as long as needed to help you. Ask and we'll delete it.
15. Security
Your data is protected by Apple's on-device, Apple Health and iCloud security. Because we don't operate servers holding your information, there is no CourtPulse database that can be breached.
16. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU/UK or the CCPA in California), you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data. Since we hold no personal data about you, the steps in section 14 cover those requests. You can always contact us with questions.
17. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top and, for significant changes, mention it in the app's release notes.
