This policy explains how the Sunroom app for iPhone and iPad ("Sunroom", "the app") handles information. Sunroom is published by Marjhorie D Mahinay ("we", "us").
- There is no Sunroom account, and we don't run servers that store your data.
- We don't collect your email, location, contacts or photos, and we can't see your progress.
- No ads, no analytics, no tracking across apps or websites.
- Your progress is saved on your device and in your own iCloud.
- If you choose to share with family, only the people you invite can see a small summary of your progress, and you can stop at any time.
1. Information stored on your device
Sunroom saves your progress on your device: the first name you choose to enter (optional), the games you've played with their scores and levels, the days you played, your streak, the keepsakes you've earned, your sunbeams, level and journey progress, the garden decorations you've chosen, when you last opened the daily gift, how many Play together games you've finished, and your settings (voice, sounds, extra-large text and reminder time). If you use family sharing, the app also keeps the name you sign notes with and which notes you've already seen.
Names typed for a Play together game are used only during that game and aren't saved.
2. iCloud sync
If you're signed in to iCloud, Sunroom copies the same progress data to Apple's iCloud key-value storage so it stays in sync across your own devices. It is stored in your iCloud account under Apple's privacy policy. We cannot see or access it.
3. Family sharing (optional)
Sunroom lets you invite family members to cheer you on. This uses Apple's iCloud (CloudKit) sharing, and nothing passes through any server of ours.
- What is shared: when you invite someone, Sunroom creates a "Family" area in your own private iCloud database holding a summary of your progress: your first name, current and best streak, number of puzzles played, the days you played in the last six weeks, your skill scores, and your five most recent games with their stars. It does not include your full history or settings.
- Who can see it: only the people you invite through the share sheet. Invitations are limited to the people you choose; the link doesn't work for anyone else. You can see and remove people at any time in the app.
- Notes: people you've invited can send you short notes (up to 120 characters, signed with a name they choose). Notes are stored in the same Family area in your iCloud.
- Following someone else: if you accept someone's invitation, you see their summary and can send them notes. Their data stays in their iCloud.
- Stopping: tap "Stop sharing" in the app (Settings › Family) and invited people lose access straight away.
Apple's iCloud shares people's iCloud names or contact details with each other as part of sharing, under Apple's privacy policy. We don't receive them.
4. Purchases
This version of Sunroom is free and has no in-app purchases. If we later offer an optional subscription, it will be sold through Apple's App Store. Apple processes payments; we never receive your payment details, name or address. We'll update this policy before any such version is released.
5. Reminders and read-aloud
If you turn on the daily reminder, Sunroom asks for permission to send notifications and schedules them on your device; no server is involved. Instructions are read aloud with your device's built-in voice, on your device.
6. Information we don't collect
We don't collect or receive personal information, advertising or tracking identifiers, location, crash or usage analytics, or data from other apps. The app contains no advertising or analytics code. Because we don't collect personal information, we don't sell or share it.
7. Health
Sunroom is for fun mental exercise. It is not a medical product, it doesn't collect health data, and its skill scores are not health or medical measurements.
8. Children
Sunroom is designed for adults, and family members of any age may join a Play together game on the player's device. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. If you believe a child has shared personal information with us, for example by emailing support, contact us and we'll delete it.
9. Your choices and deleting data
- Delete local data: delete the Sunroom app from your device.
- Delete iCloud data: go to Settings › [your name] › iCloud › Manage Account Storage (or Storage), choose Sunroom and delete its data.
- Stop family sharing: in Sunroom, open Settings › Family and tap Stop sharing.
- Support emails: if you email us, we keep the message only as long as needed to help you. Ask and we'll delete it.
10. Security
Your data is protected by Apple's on-device and iCloud security. Because we don't operate servers holding your information, there is no Sunroom database that can be breached.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU/UK, the CCPA in California or the Data Privacy Act in the Philippines), you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data. Since we hold no personal data about you, the steps in section 9 cover those requests. You can always contact us with questions.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top and, for significant changes, mention it in the app's release notes.
